A Spider Thread
walking on the autumn road
simmering red and gold
i see a spider thread
a single strand all the way across
it disappears as
i walk through it never knowing it was there.
what was he searching for?
what microscopic fly could he have caught
with a single thread?
And how many strands do i walk through constantly
every day
never seeing
never being aware
of what is calling to me? pulling me in?
